Journeyman Roots Musician
As a solo act, or as the leader of the very successful Utah bands, Daniel Weldon knows how to put together a show. His talents on vocals, electric and acoustic guitars, resonators, mandolin, porchboard, and songwriting, have earned him many awards.
With his bands, and as a solo artist, he has shared the stage with; Buddy Guy, Bo Didley, Jason Isbell, Mike Farris, The Five Blindboys from Alabama, Dwight Yoakam, Norton Buffalo & Roy Rogers, Kebmo, Etta James, Koko Taylor, and many others. He has played in almost every major music festival in Utah, appeared as a featured performer on many Utah television stations, and has been featured in many Utah music magazines and major newspapers. His band "The Legendary Porch Pounders" (with sideman Brad Wheeler), won SLC City Weekly magazine's "Showdown To SXSW" as "Best Original Band", and won SLC City Weekly magazine's "Best Blues Band" Award three years in a row. His band "The Bastard Redheads" has been featured in many music and film festivals, Utah Arts Fest, Park City Arts Fest, Sundance Film Fest, Utah High Adventure Film Festival, and Idaho's "Lavapalooza"!
For the last 10 years Daniel has been working seriously hard on his solo performance skills and has worked his way into some of the finest gigs and festivals available in Utah. Currently he is a regularly featured solo performer at The Riverhorse in Park City (since 2014), The Salt Box Park City (since 2022), The Corner Store in Park City (since 2014), Powder Mountain in Eden (since 2014), and Snowbird Resort SLC (since 2005). And this year he was just picked up by The Waldorf Park City. He also did a 14 year run at the Montage Deer Valley. In 2015 Daniel received Ogden's coveted Mayor's Award For Performing Arts.
