Nelda McAllister

Harp / Cello


Nelda McAllister is a talented harpist with over 20 years of experience performing at weddings and special events throughout Utah. Known for her ability to create a personalized musical experience, Nelda specializes in customizing songs to meet the specific needs of her clients. She has played at prestigious events such as the opening of Deer Valley Resort, Roots Tech International VIP events, and the LDS Conference Center’s annual VIP gatherings.


In addition to her musical career, Nelda brings a wealth of experience in corporate communications and media. She currently serves as the digital manager for Sterling Scholars at Deseret Management Corporation (DMC), where she previously held the role of Director of Corporate Communications. Nelda has a strong background in media publications, online media, and interculturalism, and she has been involved with various initiatives, including leading DMC's women's initiative, Imagine a Happier You, which helps women in Utah achieve financial freedom.


Nelda’s passion for the harp extends beyond performances, as she is an active member of the Wasatch County Chapter of the Utah Symphony Harp Ensemble and the Midway String Quartet. She also enjoys playing duets with her 10-year-old daughter, a budding harpist herself. In addition to her work with the harp, Nelda is working on a book focusing on Latin American culture.


She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in University Administration from The University of Alabama. Outside of her professional life, Nelda is a member of the PRSA board, where she mentors PRSSA chapters in Utah. Her dedication to music and the community is reflected in every note she plays and every initiative she leads.
