Ryan Innes is a powerhouse vocalist and songwriter whose career has taken him from rural Arizona to the national stage—and everywhere in between. Known for his rich, soulful voice and emotionally resonant songwriting, Ryan has spent the past two decades turning life’s twists and turns into moving musical moments. His sound blends the heartfelt depth of artists like Ray LaMontagne and Amos Lee with the smooth, expressive delivery of John Legend and Marc Broussard, resulting in music that’s as raw as it is refined.
Originally on a path to medical school, Ryan’s life changed course following a personal upheaval that reignited his connection to music. He enrolled in BYU’s media music program and quickly found his voice—literally—as a featured soloist with Vocal Point, the university’s award-winning a cappella group. His journey from there led to performances at iconic events like Provo’s Stadium of Fire and a residency at the Montage Deer Valley, where he honed his live chops.
In 2013, Ryan earned national acclaim as a four-chair turn on NBC’s The Voice, choosing Usher as his coach. His performances captivated audiences, and his momentum continued with the release of his debut album The Inbetween, a soul-stirring collection that captured the highs and lows of life with stunning vulnerability. He’s collaborated with an impressive roster of songwriters and producers, including Michael Pollack (Maroon 5, Jonas Brothers), Nate Pyfer, and Timothy Bloom.
In 2020, Ryan returned to NBC on Songland, pitching his original song “Long Way Home” to Lady A. While the band ultimately passed, the track found new life with The Voice winner Todd Tilghman, soaring to No. 1 on the iTunes country and overall charts. It was a defining moment that underscored Ryan’s talent not only as a performer but as a songwriter capable of writing hits for others.
Ryan’s music has since been featured on America’s Got Talent, The Punisher (Netflix), and in NFL promotions. Whether performing solo on stage or behind the scenes as a songwriter, he brings honesty, soul, and a deep emotional connection to everything he creates.
